| Oh there is still a sense of economy in Somalia, a war economy more likely. Some warlords control the country's main harbor and put a tax on every goods that enter in his territory. Some other warlords own Airports. Some own the country's roads and put tax on the vehicles that go through those roads. Some men just turn into pirates and hold foreign merchant ships for ransom. Try living in a 17 year civil war and you might be like them. Better than starving to death, I guess. |

| I think we might be a bit harsh here. Remember that the average IQ in Somalia is 58 (given UK's 100). This means that most people will be able to open doors, but might have difficulty using kitchen appliances. To that we must add poverty, inbreeding, a culture that would make Stalin blush and the worst kind of brainwashing (islam). And you expect them to think and act rational? Get over it. It's not going to happen. The sad fact is that this applies to almost all muslims. |

| Actually, at the current economic situation that America is in, you're in a much worse state than me my South of the border friend. I hope Obama can solve this mess but it's going to be hard for one man to fix a problem created by so many folks (credit card companies, insurance companies, the federal reserve, the union, the current president's taxation scheme (plus the costly illegal war=Iraq), American people falling prey to the credit industry, and so on). | Some people are doomed to repeat past mistakes. Have we forgotten about the black hawk down incident? The Americans are now smart enough to send Ethiopia into Somalia and now look what Ethiopia is going through in Mogadishu. There are so many countries that are supplying weapons to different warring factions in Somalia and that's why the civil war hasn't really died down yet. Each faction won't go to the negotiation table because they think that they have the upper hand. |
