Description
Esmael Omar, is the Director of Impact Kenya youth Initiative. He is a Somali, Muslim minority living in Kenya. Esmail works on issues of Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transexual (LGBT) rights. In this clip Esmail talks about the high HIV prevalence rates amongst minorities in Kenya. He attributes this too several factors including cultural practices, such as polygamy within some of these communities. Esmail calls on the Kenyan government and the donor community to better tailor their HIV prevention work for minority and indigenous communities.
